Born and raised in the rolling landscapes of Yorkshire, Lucy Friar is an artist whose work is deeply rooted in the quiet beauty of the British countryside. Working primarily in watercolours and acrylics, she captures everything from the windswept landscape and winding dry‑stone walls to the wildlife and farm scenes that have shaped her since childhood.
Much of Lucy’s inspiration begins behind the lens. She takes her own photographs while wandering through fields, farm tracks, and coastal paths. Back in her studio, these images become the starting point for her paintings, allowing her to capture not just what she saw, but the feeling of being there.
Each piece is created with the hope of bringing a sense of wonder, warmth, and the natural world into people’s homes — a gentle reminder of the creatures we share our countryside and coastlines with.
